Wedding Wednesday | Katie + Andrew | A Baton Rouge Wedding

Katie and Andrew tied the knot this past October in Baton Rouge. They had a beautiful ceremony and reception at Capitol Park Museum. Their special day was captured perfectly by Geaux Garcia Photography.

The Proposal:

How did you meet?

Through Varsity Sports, our running group.

The Proposal

We went to Tennessee with Andrew's family for his Ironman in Chattanooga then spent a few days in Gatlinburg. He proposed while we were hiking at a waterfall in the Smoky Mountains!

Wedding Prep:

Katie and her bridal party prepped for the big day on location at the historic Hilton Hotel in Downtown Baton Rouge. Katie gifted her bridesmaids pretty PJ sets from Hemline, Mimosa Handcrafted hug ring and Nest candles.

Ruth and Paige with Verde Beauty Studio truly captured Katie’s classic beauty with soft loose curls partially pulled back, showing off her flawless “wedding day natural” makeup.

The Attire:

Katie wore a stunning gown that she purchased from Town and Country Bridal. She accessorized with a veil, garter, her grandmother's ring and great grandmothers handkerchief.

Andrew wore a stylish Navy tux and bowtie from After Five Tuxedo Company.

The Details:

The Capitol Park Museum provides a beautiful setting for a perfect Louisiana wedding with the infamous State Capitol in the backdrop.

“I've always loved that venue and how it highlights the state capitol in the background.

Also, we both love to run and have participated in Louisiana Marathon many times and where we got married is right where the finish line is!”

Advice for Future Brides:

Was there one thing you wish you would have known pre-wedding?

Well, everyone always talks about how quickly the day goes, so I did hear that before my wedding but it truly does go by in a blur.

“My advice for couples planning their wedding is to get all of the big things out of the way first like choosing vendors, and then you can relax a little before the details come together in the weeks before the wedding. Also, having a wedding coordinator was HUGE for me because she pretty much handled all of the small details leading up to the wedding and I also did not have to do a thing on wedding day! Laura Rogan with Uncommon Camellia took care of it all!”
