Feature Friday | Glam Nottoway Styled Shoot | Nottoway Resort

A gorgeous couple. A stunning location. The ability to create magical moments and new traditions. This past year we had a chance to work with an amazingly sweet couple at one of our fav locations - Nottoway Resort. Whitney, our bride for this session and a #verdebride not long after this shoot, always wanted to have photos taken at Nottoway Plantation & Resort but with her wedding and family being 3 hours away in Lake Charles, La it wasn't something she thought she could do.

Many thanks to David with Double Windsor Photography for rocking this shoot - we actually had FOUR photo shoots in one day and he shot ALL of them!

With this styled shoot we wanted to showcase Nottoway Plantation and Resort in a new way that embraces love and the fact that more brides from different ethnic backgrounds are choosing to have their weddings at these gorgeous venues. More and more we are having brides choose locations for their beauty and grandeur while moving past a venues past.

I had a chance to speak with Whitney about why she wanted to be photographed at Nottoway Plantation - what she expressed to me is that a locations past is it's past, we should acknowledge this and move forward. When her and her hubby visited the location for our photo shoot she felt welcomed and very taken care of by the staff, from the moment they arrived at check in through breakfast and to the end of the shoot. She said, "It was a wonderfully quiet day and because of that the staff had a chance to make sure that we had everything that we needed. It made us realize that we should take the time to visit more beautiful places like Nottoway".

A Glam elopement Shoot

Putting together this shoot we had so many ideas - Sarah, one of our talented hair and makeup artists, was one of the driving forces behind our epic day of photo shoots. Our couple choose to get ready for the wedding together in the bridal dressing room - we love these sweet moments that couples get to share when getting ready together.

About the Look :

Having known Whitney from the pageant world Sarah wanted to create a look that is both glamorous and classic while still remaining timeless. She wanted Whitney and Reggie to be able to look back on this shoot as fondly as their wedding photos.

Sarah used a variety of professional products to accentuate our bride's beauty - for her skin Sarah used a combination of Temptu Silicone Airbrush Foundation with Kevyn Aucoin's sensual skin enhancer.

On Whitney's eye Sarah used the orginal Vice Palette by Urban Decay for it's assorted purple tones and finished the eye with Mac's "Deep Brown" Shadow. She framed the eye using Urban Decay's "Deep Brown" eyebrow palette.

To create cheek bones that popped while not looking over done Sarah choose to use Sephora's Liquid Glow Highlight with Anastasia's contour palette. Her foundation and look was set using "Deep Tan" pressed powered by Too Faced and the look was completed using Verde Beauty's liquid lipstick matte's in a combination of Girl Crush and Carpe Venium.

Swoon worthy details.
