Wedding Wednesday: Devon Leigh
Here at Verde, our passion is weddings! Devon Leigh's wedding was one of our favorite! From her gorgeous blonde hair to the pretty white peonies in her bouquet, the day was one from a fairy tale. Check out what she had to say about each of her amazing vendors!

" I absolutely love Hannah! She is an incredible photographer! A huge reason Taylor and I loved her work is that she and Ollie are so good at capturing pictures in the moment! Of course they do your posed pictures of the family and all your standard wedding day pictures, but they also capture so much emotion in each picture! Nothing seems staged or plastic. She also works at a great price for what you get! You get full day photography with her and Ollie and that was a must for Taylor and me! She also made sure we got every shot that we wanted. She was very friendly, so sweet, and extremely flexible. I can say that both Taylor and I highly recommend her and Ollie! If you liked the work she did with our wedding, then I can guarantee that you would love her for your own wedding too! "
Videographer: Mint Pictures (Amanda and Gabe Lloyd)
" Amanda and Gabe were so much fun to work with. They did an incredible job! They made a wedding video that makes you laugh and cry all at the same time, because it truly captured every important moment! Amanda and Gabe were so flexible, kind and caring. They worked with us to do exactly what we were hoping for in a wedding video. They travelled to Baton Rouge to do the video and were at our rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and filmed the whole day of our wedding. Truly capturing every single moment. They did an incredible job editing to pick all the important parts of our day. We have watched the video a hundred times since receiving it because we can just never get enough! Caterer: Cooking by Design
" Mary's food is to die for. She made some delicious South Louisiana food that everyone raved about! Not only that but she did it so affordably. She was so fun and easy to work with and let us taste test before to make sure we were getting all that we wanted. She has a wide variety of menu items to pick from and it really was true Louisiana cooking. "
Flowers: Sandy LeBlanc
" Sandy did a fantastic job on my flowers. She did exactly what I wanted and made my flower dreams come true, especially since my favorite and must have flower was peonies. So thankful for all she did for me. "
Hair + Make-up: Verde Beauty.
" Having Verde Beauty do my hair and make up was one of the best decisions I made. Tina did a phenomenal job and did exactly what I wanted. Getting to do a trial run gave me the opportunity to really figure out how I wanted my hair and makeup done. I loved that Verde traveled to us on the day of the wedding to get ready. It made it so easy, fun, and relaxing. Tina also did an incredible job with my hair and makeup! The tell tale sign is that it withstood the crazy Louisiana humidity and rain on my bridal shoot day. And then again, my hair and make up withstood the monsoon that moved our ceremony inside on our wedding day. I look back at pictures and am so thankful that I chose Verde. "
Wedding Dress: Blush Formal and Bridal Salon
" Blush is WONDERFUL! Blush was everything that I needed! Their team is so kind and eager to help. They allowed me to try on as many dresses as I needed. Based on my likes and dislikes they would work with me to bring me more dresses with all my likes and dislikes to try on. I found my dream dress there and bought it off the rack. I was nervous about getting my dress altered but their tailor was awesome! There was a lot that needed to be taken in for it to fit, but they worked hard until it fit absolutely perfect. (Leigh is incredible and her work is pristine!) I always felt comfortable going into the store and everyone was always willing to help. I bought my rehearsal dinner dress there and 10 bridesmaids dresses from there as well. My girls loved working with them too! BLUSH IS AWESOME! Now, I swear by it! "
"I wish someone would have told me...":
" My wedding day was 100% one of the best days of my life. I got to marry my dreamboat husband and it was one huge celebration with everyone that we love. Looking back brings nothing but a smile to both of our faces. My one piece of advice that I would give is to go with a venue that is very inclusive. All parts of our wedding were separate from venue to caterer to decorations to set-up to chairs, etc. Even though we loved everyone that we worked with and loved everything about our wedding. Having a venue that can bring most of these things together as one venue would have been such a blessing! It ended up being more difficult then we could have imagined having to do everything on our own. There were a ton of moving parts that ended up having to be all on the same page on the same day which is always more difficult then it seems. I think some wedding planning stress would have really been alleviated with an all-inclusive place. "
