Delayed but Fabulous! | Anna T | Marigny Opera House New Orleans
I’m so glad that I get to look back at some amazing weddings that happened in spite of covid in 2020 - while this beautiful wedding did have to be postponed to 2021 this beautiful couple had the night of their lives! Anna’s prep was at the classic Hotel Monteleone and the wedding was held at the Marigny Opera House - one of my fav places!
I have to give a HUGE shout out to Sam Capone of Three Little Words because she was so on top of things for Anna and the scheduling changes that had to happen due to covid. She made the process of rescheduling for so many of our brides so much easier on them during such a stressful time.
The Proposal
Anna and Anthony had planned to visit their friends Hays and Victoria in New Orleans for Anthony's birthday and attend NOLA's San Fermin festival (or Running of the Bulls - where roller derby girls dress like bulls and whack you with plastic baseball bats).
Hurricane Barry was determined to ruin their trip and their flight to NOLA was canceled, so they found cheap tickets to Mobile and the four of them drove into NOLA on a dreary Sunday. Victoria bought some white dresses on Amazon (for the Running of the Bulls, she claimed) and had Anna try one on and encouraged her to wear it the next day! How did Anna not catch on??
Monday morning, Anthony decides they should walk around City Park and he frequently schemes up park-related activities, so Anna thought nothing of it. At one point, Anthony walked back to the front of the trail, and Anna sweetly remarked: "I don't know if you remember, but we've been here before..."
she said yes!
They finally approached a bridge, and Anna asked if Anthony wanted to cross it. He replied "I think there are other bridges..." *shrug* (Anna still had no clue!)
They finally walked onto a bridge with a picturesque view. At this point, Anthony told Anna to untie the raincoat wrapped around her waist. That's when it hit her... he was about to propose. Anthony got down on one knee and pulled out the most perfect ring Anna had ever seen. S
he kept exclaiming "What!? What!?" They hugged, and Anna shoved the ring onto her finger. Guess that's a yes! Anthony told Anna to turn around and say "hi" to their dear friend (and bridesmaid!), Clara. She was dressed in all black with a baseball cap on... stealthily capturing their special moment.
In a daze, the engaged couple walked over to Ralph's at the Park and enjoyed a celebratory drink, then joined friends at Bacchanal for wine and cheese!
