An Elegant [postponed] Celebration | Elise D | New Orleans

Elise’s wedding was a gorgeous celebration of family and love that had to be postponed in 2020 but with the help of Unique Weddings things went off without a hitch! I will really miss doing wedding prep at the Jon Vaccari House (the new location of Town & Country Bridal) but I’m so happy that I got to do Elise’s prep here since we did her sister’s prep as well!

Not everything will go as planned, but it just might end up being better than your original plan!

Did you incorporate any wedding traditions from you or your partners families?

We were both raised in Catholic families, so we decided to get married in the Catholic Church. My uncle was actually the priest that married us

The Proposal

One day in January, Will planned a date to take me on the Paddlewheeler Creole Queen on the Mississippi River, cocktails at the Carousel Bar, and a romantic dinner at Italian Barrel. After dinner, as we walked through the French Quarter, Will proposed to me under the gazebo in Woldenberg Park. We ended the evening celebrating at Tableau with a few close friends & family. It was the perfect day!

What made you choose where you got married?

We were originally scheduled (pre-covid) to have our wedding in New Orleans but switched to the Moore once we decided to postpone the wedding. Our catering company, 12 Seasons, owned The Moore venue and it was the perfect location for our downscaled event

What were your special details or parts of the wedding that were specific to you?

Unfortunately, a week before our wedding in March of 2020, Covid forced us to make several changes to our original wedding plans. Majority of our vendors were more than accommodating about rescheduling our special day!

What did you choose to do as your favors?

Mini Hand Sanitizer bottles lol
