Feature Friday | Allison's Intimate CCLA Wedding | Baton Rouge

Nothing makes us happier than seeing our bride’s joy, but this wedding was especially sweet since it was one of our first events back in 2020. Allison’s Country Club of Louisiana wedding was the perfect intimate wedding captured by Renee Lorio Photography.

What made you choose where you got married?St. Agnes was my grandpa's church, and he was very special to me. He passed away a couple of years ago, and it felt right getting married there.

What were your special details or parts of the wedding that were specific to you?I wore earrings that were given to my mom by my dad when I was born, and I had a monogrammed handkerchief and sixpence that my aunt got for me when I was little.

What did you choose to do as your favors?Monogrammed cookies with our new initial - from Gran Bakes.

Did you incorporate any wedding traditions from you or your partners families?

We didn't do any special traditions, but honestly it was the best day ever.  The smaller, more intimate ceremony and reception ended up being such a blessing.  Everything was so personal and special and we had our closest friends and family with us.

How did you meet?

The Internet - we swiped right! ;) We ended up exchanging a few messages and then meeting at Overpass Merchant for drinks.

The Proposal

Bradley took me to dinner one night and then took me downtown to walk down the levee at sunset.  We stopped and sat for a while, and then he pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. It was so funny - we had dated for almost 2.5 years at that time and could talk about anything, but we reverted back to awkward small talk! I knew exactly what was happening and we were both so nervous!

Who did we forget? Any other vendors that deserve some love?

Music by Jan Dupree and the Gentlemen of Swing - they played jazz type music while we ate.

What is one thing you wish you would have known pre-wedding?

Hire a wedding planner! I 100% was so thankful we had Kate Cook along for the ride, especially with COVID. She made planning a wedding so stress free (especially for someone who doesn't like making decisions!). Her advice and guidance was invaluable.
