Space to get ready together | beauty prep inside Verde Beauty's Baton Rouge studio

Katelyn was by far one of our loveliest brides! We had the joy of getting this lovely girl ready in our studio and here's what she had to say about our space, "I enjoyed prepping for the big day at the Verde Beauty studio. It was a relaxing environment and everyone had enough room to spread out but we were still all together rather than being in separate spaces." said Katelyn.

We adored the way prep looked for Katelyn at our studio <3

We have definitely put a lot of thought into the Verde Beauty space for wedding day prep - from the temperature of the lights to the tone of the wall. We have worked with several photographers and lighting professionals to create a beautiful and relaxing space for your wedding day prep. Our studio space that is available for prep is just over 750 sq ft, with a private space for your bridal party to get ready. We keep our space private so that your party is the only clients using the space on your wedding day. We provide our brides with coffee and water options while you are welcome to bring in any food or snacks you may like.

If you are intersted in using our studio for your beauty prep - please let us know so that we can show you the gorgeous space!

Wedding Wednesday | Megan | Baton Rouge Wedding

Megan is a gorgeous Verde Beauty Studio bride who got married in January 2017 and was our first bride of the new year. Megan and her husband got married at De La Rond Hall in Baton Rouge.

Matching her elegant taste, Megan chose a beautiful updo to show off the back of her gorgeous gown. She liked having volume at the crown of her head with swept back bangs. Megan's makeup preferences were night time glam. She chose a dark, dramatic smokey eye incorporating similar undertones to her wedding colors. Megan and her bridal party looked fabulous on the big day!

Fresh Face Friday: Microblading

What exactly is Microblading?
Microblading is a form of semi permanent make up which is implemented using a hand held tool comprised of between 6-14 micro needles hence the name microblade.

How is it different than eyebrow tattooing?
Microblading is the process of implanting pigment into the basal membrane which divides the epidermis from the dermis layer of the skin to create fuller looking brows. Eyebrow tattoo is done with a motorized device whereas microblading is done used a hand held tool, also know as a pen. When it comes to the term microblading the hand tool is used to simulate hair strokes in the brow. Microblading artists also use pigment vs ink. Pigment has a thicker consistency while ink is more watery in texture and tends to have more staying power. Most pigment will last in the skin between 1-5 years, keeping in mind different skin types and the use of skin care products. There is no “spilling” under the skin which leaves the strokes fine and crisp. Naturally the pigment will exfoliate out of the skin over time causing the pigment to lighten.

Does it hurt?
Before the microblading begins, a topical numbing cream is applied to the area to minimize discomfort, followed by a liquid anesthetic. You might feel a slight discomfort but it is almost painless.

Is there anyone who isn't a candidate for microblading?
Everyone is a candidate, there are a few contraindications that may require a doctor's note in order to perform the treatment. A couple examples where a doctor's note would be needed are Cancer, Hemophilia, and Hepatitis.

Once of the most common questions we are asked is “ Can I get microbladed while I am pregnant?” We would not perform the service if you are pregnant or nursing.

Wedding Wednesday | Celeste | New Orleans Wedding

Celeste is a Verde Beauty Studio bride who got married in New Orleans at the Chicory in July of 2016.

With the help of Verde Beauty Artists Tina + Karen, Celeste and her bridal party looked fabulous for her big day. Celeste and her bridal party chose beautiful textured updos that could withstand the summer heat and humidity in New Orleans. As for makeup, the girls chose a beautiful bright pink lip to pop against their dark blue bridesmaids dresses and bright white wedding gown. The girls added false lashes to accentuate their eyes in photos.
